Que sera, sera

I'm back from my brief blog hiatus, I just had to take some time out mainly because we had to move house and it took us awhile to get the internet set back up. First things first we didn't end up moving in with my boyfriends friends. I think we made the right decision although our new place is quite small. Its essentially a studio apartment. Its rather basic and I'm surprised we were able to find a place for all of our 15 bags of stuff.

Yes 15 bags! My boyfriend couldn't believe it, before he used to be able to move with just 2 bags, he couldn't understand how I could possibly have increased it to 15. Its surprising what people accumulate over a year.  We brought clothes, laptops, shoes (obviously) and then I don't know what the hell all the other junk was!
Although I said I won't be going on holidays this year.... because I will be stuck in summer school... I have managed to squeeze a short break in! I will be going to Tuscany, Florence in Italy for 10 days with  my family! The funny thing about my dad picking Italy is that, My boyfriends sister lives in Italy. I have never met her before though, but my boyfriends hopeful that I may be able to meet up with her while I'm over there.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that my boyfriend was trying to find a new job and may have to move to another town... however he fortunately found another one close by so that didn't happen. but sadly there's rumors going around that the boss of the new restaurant has huge debts and could close at any minute. So he may have to go job hunting again. Just as we thought things were settling down.

Also we finally submitted our application, its all signed sealed and delivered and we have decided whatever will be will be. If its successful we will start planning and saving to go on a trip to China, If it is unsuccessful we will move to China. and apply again from there. My boyfriend is preparing for the worst and has been trying to force me to speak Chinese with him which is really difficult since I am still more or less at beginner level anyway Wow! big choices and decisions.

However on Friday we realised there is another complication with the application, We have to submit more docmentation @.@ Including my passport which I am not very happy about, apparently they will send it back as soon as they have finished examining it. I am worried I won't get it back in time for my holiday The holidays already been paid for and we must submit these documents within 21 days. The solicitor told me that I should get it back after 7 days. But its not guaranteed. Hope for the best.

Moving...

Me and my boyfriend are in the middle of a tug of war fight. As I mentioned last week one of his friends, who had been living and working in Galway has moved to our town. Its like "The Prodigal Son" has returned, whatever he says is right. Frankly I am over it already.

The first day the "Prodigal son" returned we invited him to our apartment for dinner and to have a chat about how he is finding the new job. After the first day he didn't like it.

He also didn't like our apartment, "its too small, Its too cold, Its old, blah blah blah." We have been living here for almost exactly a year and personally I think its fine. Not amazing, or marvelous but for the price, Its convenient and handy.

The next day my boyfriend said we should find a house to share with "The Prodigal Son" and his other friends family because they also want to move. My first reaction was NO, Primarily because

1. I like living here alone, not sharing the bathroom, kitchen or anything like that. A house you have to share a toilet with 5 other people, imagine how long it would take to wait for our turn in the shower? We would always have to be careful what clothes we wear in the house. Ultimately we have to answer to somebody for everything.

2. All his friends, that he is thinking of moving in with are Chinese... He argued that it would be a good opportunity for me to improve my Chinese. but I think that's a very feeble argument because he rarely translates anything.

3 Another part of me thinks that if he is living with his friends he will completely ignore me.

So far we have viewed 2 houses, one unsuitable and a second one that could be suitable and a studio apartment which is in a odd location... I'm rooting for the studio apartment despite the location. Were going for our second viewing of the studio apartment tomorrow so fingers crossed.

My fear got the better of me

Sorry for the long absence I have just been mega busy with exams, projects and moving apartments but most of that's over now except for the moving...

I think I mentioned it briefly before, but I have an absolutely horrible fear of dogs, sorry too all my dog lover readers, I don't mind looking at cute dog pictures, or seeing a dog on the street on a lead. I have absolutely no problem with that.

In fact there are a few dogs that I have grown to like, it just takes time for me to get used to them like my cousins dog, I am ok with it, I wouldn't bring it home with me but I can deal with it.

But when it comes to big dogs running around me going berserk I completely lose my head. This is exactly what happened tonight.

This week one of my boyfriends friends got a new job in our town and me and my boyfriend were trying to help him settle in and find a new place, We found a house and went to have a look at it. The plan was we would meet the owner in front of the Superquin bus stop and then he would show us the house.

When we got to the bus stop the first thing I saw was a greyhound leaping around like a maniac, my first reaction was oh my god I want that dog as far away from me as possible then the owner of the house started to lead us towards the house and the greyhound ran around us about 10 times. I was starting to get more and more unconfortable and I asked my boyfriend could we just wait at the bus stop while his friend looks at the house.

You think that would of been the logical thing to do because the house is not for us. But no he wouldn't, he got angry and told me to go home, I was so furious and felt he was being completely unreasonable and the other thing that really annoyed me was that both his friend and him and the owner were laughing.

Then when he got home he tried to explain to me that if he didn't go into the house he would be a weak man. well now you are just a selfish man. I just felt so disrespected, I always avoid putting him in uncomfortable positions.

The icing on the cake was when he said "now we can't go anywhere because I will be afraid there will be loose dogs there to scare you". I said your being out of proportion, if it was somewhere that we have to go that's important, then i would just deal with it. But if its something that is not important like why do I want to see your friends perspective house? he eventually agreed I was right.

I am still not happy, but I will come around, he's still in the dog house,
