Happy Replublic Day
26th January is the Republic Day of India. Although India obtained its independence on August 15, 1947, The Constitution of India came into effect only on January 26, 1950. So Republic Day is a very special day in Indian history.The Republic Day celebrations of India have rightly become world famous as one of the greatest shows on earth drawing thousands of eager sight-seers from all over the country and many parts of the world as well. No other country can draw on such a wealth of tribal traditions and cultures, with so many regional forms of dances and dress. And, no other country in the world can parade so many ethnically different people in splendid uniforms, all united in their proven loyalty to the Government elected by the people and in their proud traditions and legendary gallantry.For the memory of that day, every year a grand parade is held in the capital city of India. The event starts with India's prime minister laying a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate for the memory of the great soldiers who sacrificed their life to save our nation. After the president joins with the dignitaries at Rajpath. Then the president hoist the National flag as the National Anthem is played followed by a 21-gun salute is given. Then awards and medals of bravery are given to the people from the armed forces and also to civilians. Then the president takes the salute of different regiments of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force march past. Then people from different parts of the nation shows vibrant displays of their culture. The National Bravery Award for Children is also given during this event..
